Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (2024)

Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (1)

Day 125.

This is the easiest dip ever, yet your guests' eyeballs will roll backwards at how good it is. I've made this as a cold dip before, but figured since it's the year of the crockpot, I might as well try it warm.

It's delicious.

I made it for a party on Friday, and I should have doubled it---the crock was literally licked clean.

which is actually kind of gross.

The Ingredients.

Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (2)

--1 8 oz block of cream cheese

--1/3 cup of mayonnaise

--whole head of garlic

The Directions.

I used my mini crockpot for this dip, and it only filled it halfway. Next time I will double the recipe if we are expecting company. If you don't have a mini-crock, you can nestle an oven-safe dish in the stoneware of your large one.

Smash and peel all of the garlic cloves, and dice the garlic into tiny pieces. I used my Pampered Chef chopper thingy.

Put the cream cheese and mayo into the crock, plop the diced garlic on top. You won't be able to stir until the cream cheese melts.

Cook on high for 1 hour, low for 2. Stir well and serve with your favorite crackers and vegetables.

If you cook it a bit too long and it looks like the garlic is scorching on the side, unplug the crock and give the dip a good stir. This happened to me because I had it plugged in too long and wasn't paying close enough attention. I just pretended it didn't and no one could tell.

The Verdict.

well my crockpot was licked clean...

Oh My Heavens. This stuff is soooo very good. My SIL doesn;t care for mayo, but we both ADORE galric....this was so very yummy, we nearly ate it all to ourselves. I did not have the time to stick it in the baby crockpot, so I did it on the top of the stove in a small saucepan on low heat. Thanks sooo much it was very good!

  7. Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (9)

    not stupid!
We ate it warm. Until it cooled down. Then we ate it cold. ;-)

Before this year, I made it cold. It tasted awesome, but was a bit hard to mix the solid cream cheese, and you need a knife to spread it if it's cold. If it's warm it's gooey and dippable. ;-)

My hubby and I love garlic, and cream cheese, so I thought this would be wonderful. However at the end of 1 1/2 hours on low, we tasted it, and were overwhelmed by the garlic. I added another cream cheese block, and another 1/3 cup of mayo, cooked it for another hour, and it was very yummy. Maybe my garlic was extra big or something. But it was soo good with the extra cheese and mayo. I will defintely be making this again! Thanks! Love your blog!

I've been looking for more crockpot recipes, and I'm so glad I found this blog! Your recipes look wonderful, and so easy!

I noticed this one because I make something very similar, but I usually bake it in some Pampered Chef stoneware. Also, I double the cream cheese, use about 1/2 a cup of mayo (insead of 1/3), and add a drained jar of chopped artichokes--very tasty! It always goes so fast!

I'll be bookmarking your blog. Thanks!

Your mayo jar made be giggle. We have the same stuff in NY, but it's called Hellmanns and says "Known as Best Foods West of the Rockies." I feel like I'm seeing it I've seen the jar as it looks in the alternate universe! :)

I'm loving your site, by the way! Thanks for all the inspiration! I bought a crock pot last year (because it was red and matched my kitchen) and have yet to use it. I will now!

I have made this several times. We LOVE it! I had some left over since I doubled it, and decided to put it in 12 jalapenos. I sliced them and cleaned them out, stuffed them, and put them on the grill. They were soo yummy! I thought about putting them in the crock, but it was late, and kids were hungry, so stuck them on the grill with meat, but I think it would be just as good in the crockpot. Keep up the great job! Your recipes are becoming family favs!

I'm with Corinna (her first comment)...this was my first dish and I shouldda (now I know better) read the comments before starting out. I like garlic but it was mega overpowering. I have to run out for another cheese block before I can eat it. It worked fine in my little chocolate crock pot though.

I made this recipe, didn't have fresh garlic so I used minced and added one tablespoon. After it melted and combined, I added more garlic. Good easy recipe; I may stuff jalapenos with leftovers as another person posted. Thanks and I love the site... making the Chinese Lemon Chicken now!

I'm so very excited to try this! My mom got me a crock pot for Christmas and I've been looking everywhere for more recipes and specifically a cream cheese garlic dip to make in it for New Years. I have a big crock pot and we are expecting possibly 8-10 ppl to be here for New Years, how much should I make?

hi kYP, I'd think that this would comfortably feed 4 adults. If you have a 4qt or so crockpot, put an oven-safe dish in it, then the ingredients in the dish. A large crockpot is too big for a doubled recipe.

Do you cook it on high for 1 hour AND low for 2 hours or is one or the other?

  18. Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (20)

Hi Sharlene, it's one or the other. If you're using a Little Dipper, plug it in for 45 min to an hour, then stir. All you need to do is melt the cream cheese and mayo together, then stir.

I hope you like it, it's always a hit here.

Someone mentioned using this to stuff jalepenos-- what about adding chopped jalepeno slices to it? I've never had muck luck with making my own jalepeno poppers, plus I'm more likely to have the slices around for nachos... but can anyone help me figure out how much chopped pepper to use and if I'll need to add or do something more to make this into "Super Duper Garlic Pepper Poppers Dip"? :) TIA!! (BTW, I made Brown Sugar Chicken last night and LOVED it! LOL)

I'm fairly certain my husband and I gained a minimum of 10 pounds each eating this dip while watching football. It was SO good!

We're both HUGE fans of garlic (to the point where we have the waitresses at The Melting Pot add ALL of the garlic to our cheese fondue as they give us a strange look) but this was a tad overbearing. We just added a little more cream cheese and it was perfect! We used celery and carrots for dipping. Thanks for a great recipe!

  22. Super Duper Garlic Dip CrockPot Recipe (24)

I just made this a little while ago, and it's delicious. I keep trying to tell myself maybe the garlic is too much, maybe I should add more cream cheese, but then I have to eat another cracker to make sure, so it will probably be gone before I actually do anything to it. Strangest thing though, after 1/2 hour on high, I opened up to stir and all of my chopped garlic that was on top of the blob of cheese and mayo had turned GREEN! A lovely, pale, dyed Easter egg green. It faded a little, but there was a definite pistachio color to my dip. Still yummy though.
