I have tried and loved the recipe. I saw this recipe while searching for gluten free breakfast options. Please be informed that Asafoetida or Heeng contains gluten. I request Tarla Ma''am to to kindly mention the same in the recipes.

moong dal chilla recipe | stuffed moong dal chilla | mung dal cheelas (54)Tarla Dalal &nbsp&nbsp Hi Molly, thank you for your feedback. Yes Asafoetida (some brands) do have gluten as they contain either wheat flour or maida in some quantity. You can try and use pure Asafoetida (rock form) and use it in the recipe.

Instead of Moong Daal with skin, it is preferable to use whole Moong grain. In that case, you need to soak it for about 8-10 hours. It gives a fluffy appearance and good taste. Even stuffing is not required, just some chatni will help.
